In “Catskill Mountain Tales & Tunes” with Ira McIntosh, we’ll explore the rich culture of our region through traditional stories and songs, legends, anecdotes and local lore, covering major events and everyday life in the old days and in the present. In the hands of this seasoned performer, local history and traditions come alive in a memorable evening that will keep your toes tapping and your smiles smiling!

Ira McIntosh was born and raised in Delaware County, where many generations of both of his parents’ ancestors have lived. As a child of a Catskill Mountain woodsman and a folklorist-ethnomusicologist, Ira has spent his life simmering in good old-time heritage. His work uses the arts of music and storytelling to bring history and environmental education alive in communities and classrooms across the state.
