The Town of Delhi has a proud agricultural and educational history. The Historical Society seeks to preserve and share our heritage and culture though an annual series of programs at the Cannon Free Library and exhibits at our home in the Cannon House on Delhi's Main Street. 2022 Calendar of Events

Tuesday, June 21 at 6:00 p.m. at Cannon Free Library
Scott Wells, an Aquatic Biologist with the NYSDEC in Stamford, NY will discuss invasive species found in the rivers and streams of the Catskills.

Tuesday, July 19 at 6:00 p.m. at Cannon Free Library
Wayne Marshfield has been President of the New York State Covered Bridge Society for a number of years. He will be discussing covered bridges of New York State.

Saturday, August 13 from 12-3 p.m. at Cannon House
The Delaware County Town & Country Quilters will display their quilts at the Cannon House. They recently acquired an old Clara Stewart quilt which they will show. Another quilt will be available through their raffle.

Tuesday, August 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Cannon Free Library
Join SUNY Delhi Professor Lisa Tessier on a Walking Tour without the walk as you stroll back through time and visit the historical architecture in the Village of Delhi. This interactive presentation will explore several beautiful structures in the Village of Delhi and a few that have been lost over time. Please join us to share your memories, and to learn about notable owners, architectural styles, and symbolism.

Tom Kaufman, and his wife JoAnn Kaufman, are owners of Catskill Mountain Maple on Charlie Wood Road in DeLancey, NY. He has been making maple syrup for over 50 years and he’s going to talk about maple syrup production.

Saturday, September 24 from 12-3 p.m. at Cannon House
Three local Delaware County maple producers (Brookside Maple, Maplewood Farm and Orchard, and Dar-View Maple) will display their products and businesses. Maple products will also be available for purchase.

Tuesday, October 18 at 6:00 p.m. at Cannon Free Library
Big Chuck D’Imperio is a well known radio personality in Upstate New York. Chuck recently retired from broadcasting after almost 35 years on
the radio in Oneonta. He will discuss memorials in Upstate New York. His presentations are always very informative and quite entertaining. Copies of his book will be available for purchase for those interested.

The Delaware Academy Ukulele Club will perform at the Cannon Free Library.
